WHAT WE DO FOR CHILDREN
About Us
The Children’s Treatment Centre is a community based, community supported agency committed to the prevention and treatment of child abuse in Cornwall, the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and Akwesasne.
We provide free assessment and treatment to any child in need and that child’s family. The Centre is a unique agency. It is entirely funded by the community it serves and receives no government funding. As such, it is able to channel the bulk of its resources towards those who need it the most—the children.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs for children and adolescents from five (5) to eighteen (18) years old who have been involved in situations where physical or sexual abuse has occurred. We offer assessments and counselling for victims.
DOING MORE FOR CHILDREN TOGETHER
Upcoming Events
The Children’s Treatment Centre operates without government funding. It exists primarily because of donations from local businesses, corporations, financial institutions, civic groups, churches and concerned individuals. We have many opportunities to help make a difference in lives of youth in our community.
Phil Fontaine announced as CTC celebrity walk breakfast guest speaker
Phil Fontaine, who served as National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations for an unprecedented three terms, has been announced as the guest speaker at the Children’s Treatment Centre Celebrity Walk and Breakfast kickoff event that’ll be held September 30.
2024 Bike-a-Thon
The Children’s Treatment Centre will be holding a virtual Bike-A-Thon as we did in 2022. This year’s event will span over the month of June. Doug Grenkie is coordinating the virtual Bike-A-Thon for participants from Dundas and the West Half of Stormont Counties. Peter Asquini is coordinating the virtual Bike-A-Thon for participants from Cornwall, East Half of Stormont and Glengarry Counties. The virtual Bike-A-Thon allows participants/teams to set a fundraising goal of their choice to strive for. Participate along, with family members, friends, or colleagues anytime between June 1 - 30, 2024. Remember that for this year’s format, participants can choose their own location and route to cycle or walk.
Special Bond-themed night at Port Theatre in Cornwall for Children’s Treatment Centre
Memories of this Children’s Treatment Centre fundraiser could last forever. A father and son team in Cornwall has planned a James Bond themed event that’ll have the feel of a Hollywood premiere, a special screening of the iconic 1995 spy film Goldeneye on Oct. 21, at a Port Theatre that will look even better than when it opened 80 years ago.
